Shirley has been an educator in the field of applied human sciences for twenty five years, teaching at Concordia University in Montreal, Quebec. Her areas of practice are interpersonal communications, sexuality and human relationships and Native Education.
Shirley has a Masters of Education from Sherbrooke University with a focus on using Native philosophy in the educational process. With her passion for Native Education, she has taught and administrated the Cree Family Life Education certificate at Concordia University for eighteen years.
For the past seven years, Shirley has also facilitated an intensive training lab for graduate students entering the Human System Intervention Masters program at Concordia University. She has also been the co-facilitator for the Sexual Attitudes Reassessment Workshop offered through Sexpressions.
Shirley has also seen clients in her private practice in psychotherapy for the past 20 years. Her therapeutic concentration is on personal awareness, personal power and healing.
Shirley is married, has four grown children and seven grandchildren; the other great joys in her life.
Teresa Norris
QUICKIE SEX TALK CONSULTANT
HPV AWARENESS EDUCATOR
Teresa Norris is a sex educator specializing as an expert on HPV and cervical cancer. Her passion for sex education stems from the loss of her best friend to cervical cancer at the tender age of 24 in 2001.
Teresa has spent the past ten years creating a charity-based, bilingual national organization called HPV Awareness Corporation (to inquire further visit www.hpvawareness.org). Joined by a team of physicians and partnerships with two government agencies – the SOGC (Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Canada) and the GOC (Society of Gynecologic Oncology of Canada) she launched an awareness campaign offering workshops across the Country. Teresa is also the National/International spokesperson for HPV in public/media/scholar forums through WACC (Women Against Cervical Cancer).
She is a regular expert voice in the National/International media on issues of HPV causing cervical cancer. Her appearances are in several television broadcasts, newspapers and radio programs across the country. She is also a contributor to the Sexuality Education Network working to improve sex education through an interactive information website www.sexualityandu.ca.
Teresa Norris is also broadening her field of expertise, doing both a Puberty program for 12 year olds and National speaking appearances with Sexpressions, giving “The Quickie Sex Talk”, that targets high school audiences and focuses on a wide scope of sexual health issues.

Amanda Unruh, BA
SEXUAL HEALTH EDUCATOR

While completing a Bachelor of Arts degree in World Religions at McGill, Amanda took a sexuality class and has been talking about it ever since. Studying the intersections between religion and sexuality, she volunteered at the McGill Shag Shop, a safer sex boutique for students, educating students on sexual health and related topics. Three years later she became the co-ordinator and health educator and runs the Shag Shop, in addition to a number of healthy living initiatives for students. She is also the resource coordinator and developer for Sexpressions.com, which creates and provides resources for front line workers teaching sexual health.

With over 30 years in customer service and DEC in business Linda brings to Sexpressions organizational and customer service skills. Responsible for co-ordinating training sessions and customer inquiries.

Laurie Betito, Ph.D.
PSYCHOLOGIST/ SEX THERAPIST
Dr. Betito is a psychologist with a specialty in sex therapy, and has been a practicing psychotherapist for the last 20 years. Her professional activities and experiences are diverse. Eighteen years ago, she began a career in radio when, as a co-host, she joined the team of MIX 96 in Montreal; a station that broke barriers when it introduced a call-in show (The Love Line), airing once per week, all about sex and relationships. In 1999, she joined CJAD 800 with her own talk show (this time nightly), once again about sex and relationships. This show, “PASSION”, has soared to take the number one position in its time slot, and it is the only show of its kind on Montreal airwaves. Her television appearances are also quite numerous. Laurie has appeared across Canada, on the weekly show EROS (The Life Channel) as well as on MenTV (a digital cable channel) where she hosted the show “LET’S TALK SEX”. She has appeared frequently on various television programs, including news segments, both as a commentator, and as a regular “sexpert”, and is an accredited member of ACTRA. Laurie has had regular features in national magazines such as MENZ MAGAZINE and MUM MAGAZINE and has published several academic papers. She is affiliated with the Montreal General Hospital’s Human Sexuality Unit, and is a senior member of their specialized team. Laurie continues to lecture extensively in Montreal and across North America.
Jason Goldsmith
SPECIAL NEEDS CONSULTANT/ AUTISM CONSULTANT
Formally trained as an industrial designer, Jason worked as a design consultant creating innovative product lines for Disney, Trudeau Corporation, Starfrit, and D-Box Technologies before refocusing his energies towards helping his son. Along with his fine arts and design background, Jason has received trainings in language stimulation and relationship development for autistic children. Jason's work with his son Ellis lead to the discovery of drawing as a way to augment communication. Founded in 2006, Big Blue Hug became Jason's vehicle to share his story with others. Realizing that the foundations of Big Blue Hug art lay in a powerful visual communication tool, Jason founded Picture Talking in 2007. Since then Jason has been developing the communication tool through collaborations with schools and child developmental centers, www.thebigbluehug.com
In addition to spreading autism awareness through his art, Jason hosts regular language stimulation workshops for parents and professionals. Jason also teaches 'adapting educational materials for language delayed children' at TAV College in Montreal and studies Art Education at Concordia University.
