ABC’S of Autism and Sexuality

This training is specific to the needs of teachers, nurses, front line workers and parents who work or live with individuals with an autism spectrum disorder. With 1 in 110 children being diagnosed (which is 1 in every 70 boys and 1 in every 315 girls), this information is essential for effective teaching strategies.

While the sexual needs of individuals with an ASD may not be very different from others, the way in which information is processed can be. People with an ASD may also face unique sensory profiles which educators need to be informed about.

This training offers an overview of ASD and how it relates to sexuality, from puberty through adolescence, as well as teaching strategies for teaching sexual health.

A= Awareness and Attitudes
B= Behaviours
C= Communication and Connection

This training is available in select cities, or as an in-service program in your school or community.
